Girish and Rakesh Daryani were born and raised in Dubai. They began their careers in the textiles industry in 2002, importing fabrics from China and South Korea and exporting to markets such as Russia, Ukraine, and Poland. With a deep passion for fashion, they often struggled to find the right place in Dubai that could cater to their bespoke needs with a personal touch and at a reasonable budget. As a result, they frequently relied on designers in Mumbai for their clothing.
In 2013, their textile wholesale trading business faced challenges due to the war in Syria, the Russian currency crisis, and fluctuating oil prices. This setback inspired the duo to transition into the retail side of textiles by creating a men’s bespoke textiles and tailoring store. Their vision took shape in February 2015 when they officially opened their doors, bringing their idea to life.
Why menswear?
“Because men’s fashion has really evolved over the last few years and it was always a challenge to find the right store to cater to our personal bespoke needs in Dubai. Hence, we found a gap in the market that we could bridge.”
Where are you retailed at?
“We are at Souq Al Kabeer in Bur Dubai.”
Your vision for the label:
“Our immediate plans in the near future is to open a store in Downtown Dubai in order to be more accessible to a wider target audience and to keep improving our quality.”
